Periaerofoil concept and theory

For all enquiries and a priority response please email Peter Grossi, with the word "periaerofoil" in the subject

This report provides details of a project that investigates the possibility of developing a flying machine that does the work of a helicopter but creates very little downdraught and generates much less noise. Importantly, there are no clearly visible moving parts, such as propeller blades or turbines, that provide the motive power. So the proposed airframe resembles a so-called flying saucer more than it does a conventional aircraft or helicopter.
This is a research project for which basic theory has been set out and tested experimentally, but much needs to be done to obtain a complete understanding for a fully functional design.

Notice of a talk in Cardiff advertising a presentation on this topic to the Cardiff Model Engineering Society in November 2026.
